Has My Upbringing Shaped Who I am Today?

Published June 2026 | Counselling Directory

Our early relationships can shape how we see ourselves, connect with others, and navigate the world. How Therapy Can Support Healthier Romantic Relationships

Published October 2025 | Counselling Directory

Healthy relationships require more than love—they also need understanding, communication, and self-awareness. While challenges and conflict are a natural part of any relationship, individual therapy can help you better understand your emotions, communication style, attachment patterns, and relationship dynamics. By developing healthier ways of responding, managing conflict, and expressing your needs, you can create stronger, more fulfilling connections with your partner, even if they are not attending therapy themselves.

Therapy that recognises the mind-body connection can help you become more aware of these signals, regulate your nervous system, and develop healthier ways of responding to stress. By working with both the mind and the body, you can build greater emotional balance, resilience, and overall wellbeing.

Persona vs Shadow: The Hidden Side To Us

Published March 2017 | Counselling Directory

We all have different sides to ourselves. The version we show the world. What Carl Jung called the persona helps us navigate life, but it can also hide parts of who we truly are. These hidden aspects, known as the shadow, may include emotions, strengths, or vulnerabilities we've learned to suppress. When left unexplored, they can influence our thoughts, relationships, and behaviours in ways we don't fully understand.
